Lindos Beach
The island's most recognisable bay, framed by Lindos' Acropolis and a cascade of whitewashed houses tumbling down to the sand.
A wide, sheltered bay of soft golden sand and shallow, turquoise water, Lindos Beach is ideal for relaxed swimming and family days by the sea. The main stretch – often called Megali Paralia – offers organised sunbeds, low-key water sports and easy access to the village above for a wander or sunset drink.

St Paul's Bay
A tiny, almost circular inlet just below Lindos, with a chapel perched above and rock walls protecting a natural turquoise swimming pool.
Shallow, glass-calm water and a compact strip of sand make St Paul's Bay one of the most romantic spots on Rhodes. It's perfect for drifting with a mask and snorkel or simply relaxing on a sunbed with the chapel and cliffs as your backdrop. The bay is small and popular, so early arrivals get the pick of the shade.

Vlycha Beach
A gently curving bay close to Lindos with a relaxed, family-friendly feel and plenty of space to spread out.
Vlycha slopes gradually into the sea, with a mix of sand and fine pebbles underfoot and typically calm, clear water. Hotels and small shops line the back of the beach, giving you easy access to everything you need without disturbing the low-key atmosphere. Walk further along the coast and you soon reach quieter stretches and neighbouring Kalathos Beach.

Anthony Quinn Bay
A dramatic, pine-fringed cove made famous by the film “The Guns of Navarone”, with intensely coloured emerald water.
Rocky ledges and terraces frame this compact bay, creating a wild, cinematic setting. The rocky seabed means excellent visibility and rich marine life, making Anthony Quinn Bay one of the best snorkelling and diving spots on the island. Sunbeds are tucked between rocks and on platforms above the sea, while nearby Faliraki offers a livelier contrast.

Agia Agathi Beach
A soft, sandy cove with shallow, transparent water and a sleepy atmosphere that invites all-day lingering.
Agia Agathi is all about simple pleasures: fine golden sand that continues into the sea, knee-deep shallows perfect for children and a clutch of casual canteens serving easy meals. A small chapel and cave on one side of the bay add a touch of legend, while a ruined medieval fortress keeps silent watch from the hill above.

Tsampika Beach
One of Rhodes’ signature long, golden beaches, backed by low dunes and hills and washed by clear blue-green water.
Tsampika has room for everyone: organised zones with sunbeds and beach bars, quieter corners for those bringing their own umbrella and a selection of water sports and floating playgrounds for kids. Above the bay, the chapel of Panagia Tsampika crowns the hill, reached by a staircase with sweeping views of the coastline.

Kallithea Springs & Beach
An elegant complex of domes and mosaics from the 1920s, wrapped around crystal-clear coves on the northeast coast.
Kallithea Springs blends heritage architecture with inviting sea water. Wander through the restored colonnades and pebble mosaics, then descend to rocky platforms and small coves for swimming and snorkelling. Just along the shoreline, sandy stretches offer a more classic beach set-up with sunbeds, beach bars and shallow entry.

Elli Beach
Rhodes Town’s main beach, a cosmopolitan curve of sand and fine pebbles within easy walking distance of the Old Town.
Elli combines city convenience with island‑holiday energy. Rows of sunbeds, beach bars, cafes and restaurants line the shore, while a diving platform offshore adds a playful, retro touch. Afandou Beach
A long, Blue Flag stretch where sand and tiny pebbles meet deep, refreshing water and plenty of space.
Afandou rarely feels crowded thanks to its length. You can settle into an organised section with sunbeds, beach bars and a volleyball court or keep walking to quieter corners where it is just you and the sea. One end of the beach blends into Traganou, known for its small sea caves carved into the rock, while the nearby village of Afandou offers extra tavernas and shops.

Prassonisi Beach
A wild sandbar at the southern tip of Rhodes, linking the mainland to a small islet and creating two contrasting bays.
Prassonisi is a playground for windsurfers and kitesurfers when the Meltemi winds blow, with one side of the sandbar often whipped into waves while the other remains calmer. Even if you stay on shore, the sense of openness, constantly shifting colours of the sea and views towards the open Aegean make it one of the island’s most unforgettable beaches.
