Technically a little further along the coast, Kallithea is worth the extra few minutes for its sheer drama. The water is some of the clearest on the island, protected by natural rock formations, and the surrounding landscape of pine trees and carved stone is unlike anywhere else in Greece. Snorkelling is excellent here, and the beach is popular with photographers for a very good reason.

4. Psaropoula Beach — The Quiet One
